I can’t believe our babies just turned three! You always hear parents saying that and then it happens to you. 🙂 They are turning out to be such exceptional little people, toddler shenanigans notwithstanding.
It’s slightly more challenging to come up with a party theme that is appropriate for both of them and I’m sure will get harder as we go along. On a recent trip to Philadelphia, we took the kids to the aquarium and they both couldn’t stop talking about it, so I knew that is what I would do. So, with the Under the Sea theme hatched, I started with the cake.
I love the decorative cakes, but with what I know now about food coloring, I wanted to do a themed cake, but use natural coloring. So, I worked with my baker, JoJo’s CupKakes, to make that happen and I couldn’t have been more pleased. She used blueberries to make the blue color.
I made jelly fish from clear trash bags and made bubble streams with clear and white balloons. I made a shark from a poster board and a photo backdrop on the wall. The kids loved the octopus on the ceiling.
I also got these adorable shark fin ice cube trays, then forgot to put the ice out!
