Navy is the new black

August 23, 2015

Last night I went to my high school reunion.  I didn’t know what to expect because I missed the first one we had, so I really wanted to go. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed seeing everyone. It’s always fun to get out of the house and dress up, too.

I was going to wear a black cocktail dress that I had, but I went to try it on and it didn’t even remotely fit. When did that happen? So, I had a great excuse to buy a dress and I found this great one from ASOS. I’m really into the midi length right now.

Throughout the night, they had a video playing of old high school footage. At the end, they showed a tape of our “Airfest” which was lip-syncing and dancing. Two friends and I danced to the Bee Gee’s…like full on 70’s routine. We danced our hearts out but didn’t bother with the lip-syncing — this was just a dance routine for us.

I knew this video was coming and was excited to see it, but ready to crawl under the table since I’d be watching with a ton of people. While a little embarrassing, it was truly hysterical. I had never seen it before and my friend Jaclyn and I laughed ourselves to death watching this back.

I wore tight white bell bottoms, a vest, a leather jacket, suede patchwork stacked heel boots, a headband and gold chains. Yes, let that roll around in your mind a bit.

All in all, it was a great night. I loved my navy dress, but that 70’s outfit is hard to beat.
