Fall wine tasting

October 17, 2016

To celebrate my birthday, we drove up to Charlottesville for an afternoon of fall vineyard hopping. It was a day of hits and misses. The place I really wanted to go to was closed. Then we missed our exit for another place, but saw a sign for King Family Vineyards and I recognized the name, so we decided to stop. The first thing we noticed here was a gorgeous horse barn and soon learned that this is indeed a horse farm and that they host polo matches throughout the year. We arrived early and had the place to ourselves. If you know me, you know how enticing that is. So, Monday early afternoon is the time to go. 🙂

It is a gorgeous facility and the wine was good. I would definitely go back and hopefully for a polo match.
