Date Night at the Ballet

June 13, 2016

One of my friends is the executive and artistic director of our local ballet company, The Roanoke Ballet. So when tickets went on sale for her latest production, Don Quixote, I jumped at the chance for a nice evening out with Erick. We had a nice dinner without anyone throwing food at us, stealing food off of our plates, throwing food on the floor. It was really nice for a change.

The ballet was wonderful. Such a great production and we really enjoyed seeing Rolando Sarabia, the guest ballet master who will be with the Washington Ballet this season. We are amazed at all of the hard work our friend has done.

I purchased the dress I’m wearing from zulily, which is actually where I sometimes buy things for the kids. I usually don’t buy things for myself here, but I saw this one day and thought it was a classic silhouette that would be a great closet staple. The dress has been sitting in my closet since the winter and I was happy to pull it out.  I tried to find it to link to, but it’s a Polish company and there’s no link to purchase.

I love these Sam Edelman heels (mine are suede, whereas they only sell them in leather now). I think they are so pretty on, but I confess to having Erick pick me up and drop me off at the door of the restaurant and the theater because I just can’t walk that far in heels in any more due to my hip problems.
