Birthday Trip to Wine Country (Virginia)

October 6, 2014

To celebrate my birthday, we took a day trip to Charlottesville to visit Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards.

We took the kids and had a great time.  This place is just gorgeous — the setting in the mountains, the landscaping, the facility itself. While we waited for our table, I bought a bottle of wine and we wandered around and took some pictures.

I was equally as impressed with the food.  I had a cheese plate to start and then squash tortellini with duck confit.  My mouth is watering just writing this. Erick had beef sliders. Everything was delicious. One of the best meals I’ve had at home in a while.  (Mexico excluded — I’m missing the food there!)

I can’t wait to go back.  It is a really special place.  Also, there’s many other vineyards in this area that I would like to check out.
