About

Hi! I’m Whitney and you’ll find a wide variety of topics here — these days mainly family life, travel, food and holistic living. I work in web marketing and social media, do infertility advocacy work and chase toddlers.

I live in Roanoke, surrounded by the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains in southwest Virginia, with my husband, four-year-old twins and our weimaraner, Kali.

I met Erick on the beach in Puerto Rico when I was an exchange student at the Universidad de Puerto Rico. I fell in love with the island and with him!

We spent eight years battling infertility and repeat pregnancy loss. We went through seven IVF cycles, a few surgeries and five devastating miscarriages. Right before I was ready to lose all hope, we turned to surrogacy even though it seemed impossible. By the grace of God and our surrogate, we finally became parents. I chronicled our whole journey with infertility, repeat pregnancy loss and surrogacy on this website.

Earlier this year, I created and launched Surrogacy Hope because I want to help others realize that their dream may still be possible and that surrogacy can be done without an agency and especially without astronomical agency costs.

In addition to infertility and surrogacy advocacy work, my newest passion is trying to lead a more holistic life one step at a time.
