I’m an aunt (for the first time)!

After 76 hours of labor, an earthquake and a c-section, my niece finally arrived at 2:04 am today. Welcome to the world, Avery! Congrats to my brother Cameron & sister-in-law Jes!

I can’t believe Jes was in labor for 3 days!?! I’ve never even heard of that. I was worried about the baby, but thankfully mom and baby are both doing great after quite a harrowing birth.

Thanks for all of your comments the other day about this being a little bittersweet. Thankfully, that has passed and as soon as I saw her photo, I fell in love! She’s just precious.

I’m excited about my new role as an aunt. I have such a special relationship with my aunt and I hope to have that with Avery.

I got to FaceTime with her and my family tonight, so that was cool. Hopefully, we’ll be going to visit them soon.

This is hard, the picture with the parents especially- I know it. But… GOOD FOR YOU for finding that positive. That little baby is not the thing breaking your heart, for sure- and who knows, she may even part of what heals you. Being an auntie is awesome.
